Gothic Romance Give Away and Stuff...

Wow! The time really got past me this month. I haven't done a book give away in a while. So, I'm giving away a grab bag of three Victoria Holt and Phyllis A. Whitney novels to someone who replies to this post within 72 hours or by Monday, 2/28 at 11pm EST. Just make a comment about anything, really, related to gothic romance. I'll use the Random Number Generator to make the choice of a winner.

It's slow going with writing, work, editing, and midterms this week, but I hope to have a review up in a few days. Anyone reading anything good?

Also, the blog is still open to guest reviewers (you can review a gothic novel and promote your website, etc. if you'd like) and to authors in the genre. Just send me a message or comment here if you're interested.

Have a fabulous weekend!

Hey, I'd love to win this, all my Victoria Holt books are in my parents loft and I've not tried any Phyllis A. Whitney yet.

Hi Lisa,
I actually just finished reading 'Ammie, Come Home" by Barbara Michaels. It was a little long but I truly enjoyed it! =)

Kristen, I love that one, too! :)

Hi Lisa. I'd like to enter. I've only read one Victoria Holt (Mistress of Mellyn), which was pretty good. And one Phyllis Whitney (The Winter People), which I thought was TERRIBLE. So I'd like to try another Whitney before I write her off for good.

I think the problem getting started with either of them is that they wrote so much, I have no idea where to start or finish!

It's been a while since I've read any Victoria Holt. I read a bunch of Phyllis Whitney when I was in California 2 years ago--the upside to an underfunded library is that they still have a lot of cool old books. and it was a totally different experience reading Whitney's book set in Carmel while living within a half hour of her setting. fascinating to experience a book's setting like that.

I just learned about Victoria Holt a couple weeks ago while doing some research on Gothic fiction (which is also how I came across this blog). I've never tried her, but since she's one of The Names To Know, I should!
