Good Gothic Reading Weather/Your Gothic Novels List

It's great Gothic Novel reading weather today-- rain and gray skies. Do you enjoy your Gothic Novels more when the weather is gloomy, or does it matter?

I'm also wondering what you have on your Gothic Novel reading list for the upcoming month(s)?

These novels are on my list and in my to be read stack (in my Gothic Novel box) at home:

Mariana by Susanna Kearsley

The Stone Maiden by Velda Johnston

Masquerade in Venice by Velda Johnston

The House of a Thousand Lanterns by Victoria Holt (a re-read, but it's been a while)

The Eye Stones by Harriet Esmond

The Magic Cottage by James Herbert

Don't Look Behind You by Margaret Erskine

Silversword by Phyllis A. Whitney (a re-read after fifteen years or more)

The Changeling by Philippa Carr (to see how Gothic this one is)

Ghost Story by Peter Straub

... and many others.

How about you? What's on your Gothic Novel reading list for the coming months (if anything)?

I currently have about 30 paperbacks on my "to read" shelf, many of them repeats, among them:
Witch and Greygallows by Barbara Michaels
The Shivering Sands and The King of the Castle by Victoria Holt
Black Creek Crossing by John Saul
The Witching Hour by Anne Rice
The Thirteenth Tale by Diane Setterfield
The Unquiet and Every Dead Thing by John Connolly
Halloween is a good time for some real spooky stuff, hope something interesting crosses my path this year.

I enjoyed 'The Unquiet' and most of those you are rereading. I am going to have to reread some of the Holts this year, for sure. I hope you find something spooky, too, for Halloween. October is my favorite month of the year! :)

I plan on reading Bram Stokers Dracula for the first time ever near halloween.
I'd also like to re-read a Barbara Micheals favorite: Ammie, Come Home and Vanish with the Rose (thanks to Lisa!).
I've ordered Josephine Boyle's Holy Terror from Paperbackswap (also thanks to Lisa's rec.).

J, 'Dracula' is a favorite for me... in the top ten Gothics I like, maybe because I've had to teach it almost that many times. LOL.

I really hope you like 'Holy Terror.' I can't wait to see what you think of it. :)
